What are Fundraising Gatherings?
Fundraising Gatherings are for people like you and me, who want to help out in this situation, while staying home. These are highly curated online gatherings featuring musicians, poets, storytellers and instrumentalists. You join the link, turn your cameras on, enjoy the performances, and meet-n-connect with like-minded people. And if you enjoy your time with us, at any point in the gathering, feel free to transfer some money towards our cause.
The artists are performing for free, and Motojojo will not be keeping any of the funds we raise. The funds will go directly towards supporting and spreading awareness in rural areas, starting with Pecharuwa, UP, in providing relief, resources, and awareness. By resources, we mean masks, doctor’s fees, medicines and maintaining isolation centres.
Why Pecharuwa, UP?
This little village in the Barabanki district has apopulation of 2,500 people, out of which 50% are afflicted. 20 people have died over the last 20 days. There are no labs, testing kits, doctors or even masks and basic awareness amongst the people. We’re going to be working on-ground to provide this village with basic resources, and educating them on the do’s and don’t’s during this global pandemic.
Is there a ticket price?
It’s a pay-what-you-feel gig. So you can pay any amount you’d like to donate for the cause. Minimum contribution starts at ₹100.
What else is Motojojo doing for COVID-19 relief?
We have created city-wise (currently the ones where we have been physically present in) WhatsApp groups to exchange valid, verified COVID-19 related information and resources. Tap on the whatsapp icon on the bottom right to connect with us and we can connect you through to the groups.
