What is a Motojojo Gathering?
A Motojojo Gathering is an intimate community gathering where upcoming indie artists perform in unique spaces to an intimate audience who loves art and travel.
Present in more than 15 cities, Motojojo gatherings are a way to get lost in the magic of stories, poetry, and original music, and to inspire people to know the unknown.
To make sure new and talented artists are encouraged to continue their journey to spread happiness through their art and are respected, contributions in the form of tickets booked by the guests go to the artists performing. The artists, as well as the audience is curated to ensure a vibe’s created between like-minded people. Guests arrive on time for the first act and stay for the entire show.
Travel stories are from common people (not necessarily pro artists) based on real-life, raw experiences, ranging from an incident in the local transport/city to climbing a mountain, swimming a sea to exploring any part of the world.
What is a Ghummakadi Kalakaar?
Back in the days, some people were blessed with gifts from the Gods in the form of art. Everyone considered serving and hosting these people as an honour. They took care of these artists who travelled across lands, spreading joy all around. They were called “Kalakaar” (artists).
Fast forward to centuries later, our fast-paced and busy lives have led us to undermine the relevance of the happiness these artists bring through their art. We want to share their art in its truest form, appreciate it and spread it as far and wide as we can.
And so, we introduced the first ever community-funded tour in India in 2019, “Ghumakkadi Kalakaar”, a movement to support these joy-givers as they travel to different cities, perform and bring light into our lives.
We’re bringing the community an opportunity to crowd-fund and support these artists who will be touring to different cities through our gatherings. Such gatherings will be where you can meet these artists and know more about them.
We have had 10 Ghumakkadi Kalakaar’s who have toured from April’19 – Feb’20.
